This is the story of my first big order! A very, very wonderful customer has ordered table runners for her wedding. Forty two table runners, to be exact. Which, in her case, is the equivalent of a fifty yard bolt of fabric, to be printed, cut and sewn. So, step one (after I ordered a whole lot [...] The idea of tweaking ink is sort of misleading, I think. I’ve noticed that it takes about the same amount of time to approximate a color as it does to match a color. Ink is added in small increments, because it’s easy to overshoot. In the photo above, it takes me twelve steps to create [...] I need to mix an ink in Robin’s Egg Blue. It’s a pretty color. Versatile. It hints at cool retro things, especially when paired with red.
