A custom ordered lamp shade printed in Apple Blossom in Royal Blue ink gave me a chance to play with a few new lampshade-making toys that arrived this week. This project came out really, really well- hopefully I’ll get a photo of it once it’s hung in her kitchen!

Yay! Five years married, as of yesterday. So my husband, the screen printer, and I, the block printer, spent a little studio time together and made ourselves a little something nice! Crafty Bastards is tommorow and we’re psyched! We got a little carried away, I think. Maybe I never saw it before, but it seems like I buy an awful lot of stuff, especially when you consider that there’s a lot more that I buy that I don’t write about on the blog… Anyway, I went to two cool places [...] Lately, I’ve been scouring local thrift stores for items that I can use in a craft show display booth, and I came upon a like-new set of white king-sized sheets in a sateen weave (read “butter soft”). I need large white swaths of fabric just like this, so I was elated with my new find… [...] Bride’s Rescue Kit Originally uploaded by homesweet I made this for a friend and neighbor out of a scrap of fabric I had from the studio. My mother-in-law gave me one of these when I got married. It’s a “Bride’s Rescue Kit”. It includes lots of handy things: sewing kit, ibuprofen, band-aids, deodorant, nail clippers… I have kept [...] The rainy weather threw me off. On Wednesday, it was hot here. Like summer. So the next day I dressed for the hot weather, but it had cooled off. Then yesterday, cooler still, and rain.
